Changes to card payments

We have recently made some changes to the way that card payments are taken when paying over the phone to our contact centre.

For Council Tax, rent, Chesterfield Careline and invoice payments made over the phone, you will no longer be asked to provide your card details to the customer service advisor. Instead, you will be transferred to a new  automated system called Call Secure, where you will be asked to enter your card details using the keypad on your phone.

You will be prompted when to provide your card information by the automated system.

Once you have input your card details, the call will come to an end, and you won’t be transferred back to the customer service advisor unless there is an issue with the payment. You will be notified if there is an issue and will be able to speak to a customer service advisor.

Please note that there are no changes to how payments are made over the phone for leisure services – including Queen’s Park Sports Centre, Healthy Living Centre, Crematorium and Chesterfield Theatres.

Payments can also be made via our website, Touchtone phone line and in person at our Customer Services centre.
