Current Local Plan
The current Local Plan for Chesterfield Borough consists of:
- the 2013 Local Plan; Core Strategy
- saved policies of the 2006 Replacement Chesterfield Borough Local Plan
Local Plan; Core Strategy
The 'Local Plan; Core Strategy' (Core Strategy) sets out our strategy for development across the borough until 2031, and identifies which broad areas are suitable for development.
The Core Strategy is the first part of our current Local Plan, and replaced our previous Local Plan (known as the Replacement Chesterfield Borough Local Plan 2006)*.
Chesterfield Borough Council adopted the Core Strategy at a meeting of the full council on the 24 July 2013.

The proposals map is a geographical expression of all the adopted policies in the Chesterfield Borough Local Development Framework (CBLDF).
The map consists of the core strategy policies alongside saved policies from the 2006 Local Plan. In the future, when the Local Plan; Sites and Boundaries and the Staveley and Rother Valley Corridor Area Action Plan are adopted, the map will consist of all the Local Plan policies.
Saved policies of the 2006 Replacement Chesterfield Borough Local Plan
* A number of policies from the Replacement Chesterfield Borough Local Plan (2006) have been saved until the adoption of the Local Plan; Sites and Boundaries. These policies are detailed in Appendix H of the Core Strategy.
