Our active fitness members and Annual Active Chesterfield members can book eight days before playing. Annual Active Chesterfield members will pay at the time of booking.
Change4Life (Change for Life) members and non-members can book up to six days in advance and pay at the time of booking.

Try out our 10.5 metre climbing wall at the Healthy Living Centre.
The climbing wall is suitable for all ages and abilities.
Our climbing wall has 17 lines, over 70 individual routes, all tope-roped and equipped with quick draws for lead climbing, four auto-belays, all on a variety of slabs, walls and overhangs.
We also have a mixed route bouldering room.
- Monday to Friday: 7am to 10pm
- Saturday: 9am to 7pm
- Sunday: 9am to 8pm
Suitable for first time climbers of all ages from seven upwards, the session is run by one of our qualified instructors and gives you the chance to put on a harness, climb our wall and feel what it's like be up to 10.5 metres off the ground. If you enjoy the session children can then attend our children's climbing clubs
and adults can book on for a full climbing induction.
Session times: Friday 6.15pm to 7.15pm
Climbing induction: age 14 plus
- induction assessment Wednesday 6.15pm to 7.15pm
- induction course Wednesday 7.15pm to 9.15pm
The induction and assessment are free for our active fitness members or see our pay as you go prices. A parent or guardian must remain on site if the climber is under eighteen.
Suitable for all abilities and levels to help you develop your climbing skills. From needing a belay partner to pushing grades or developing technique, this instructor staffed session will offer all the support and guidance you require.

Pay as you climb
If you are new to the centre but an experienced climber you can take our climbing wall competency photo quiz (100% pass mark required). Once you pass you will need to fill in a registration and conditions of use form, then you are able to pay and climb whenever the wall is open.
Koala club: for children aged 5 and 6
These sessions provide a great first step into the world of climbing in a fun, structured and safe environment for young children.
Session time: Wednesday: 5pm to 6pm.
Parents or guardians are asked to remain with their child during the session.
Monkey club: for children aged 7 to 12
In these sessions children learn the basic skills and techniques of climbing in a friendly instructor led environment.
Areas covered include: Safety issues, top-roping, bouldering and climbing techniques. To develop their climbing skills, children are encouraged to participate in our in-house ‘Seven Summits’ skills scheme to gain their seven summit certificates.
Session times: Monday: 4.30pm to 6pm, Friday: 4.30pm to 6pm, Saturday: 9am to 10.30am.
Young Climbers Club: for young people aged 12 to 17
An opportunity to climb, develop and sharpen more advanced climbing skills in a supportive environment with other like-minded people.
Club participants are able to complete any of the seven summits not conquered in our in-house climbing scheme. This session also welcomes young people that are new to climbing.
Session times: Monday: 6.15pm to 7.45pm, Saturday: 10.45am to 12.15pm.
Taster sessions: age 7 and over
These sessions are for first time climbers wanting to give climbing a try.
The session is run by one of our qualified instructors and gives children the chance to put a harness on, climb our wall and feel what it's like be up off the ground.
If children enjoy the session they can then attend our climbing clubs (see above).
Session times: Friday: 6.15pm to 7.15pm.
Children can enjoy a climbing wall party at our Healthy Living Centre.
Session times: Due to unforeseen circumstance we are not able to offer climbing parties at this time. Please contact the centre at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The parties are supervised by a qualified climbing instructor.
Parties are for a maximum of eight children, all who must be aged seven or above. We ask that no more than two adults stay on site to accompany the party.
A climbing consent form must be completed for all attendees before being allowed to climb.
Extend your party by hiring space to provide food after your activity for just £16.
Please bear in mind that:
- sensible clothing must be worn, skirts are not acceptable for climbing
- open-toe footwear is not suitable for climbing
- all jewellery needs to be removed before the session.
