Satisfaction with council housing services has increased over the past year, reflecting the continued progress being made to deliver high quality services for tenants.
Chesterfield Borough Council has published its Tenant Satisfaction Measures survey results for 2025/2026 which highlight the encouraging progress that has been made to improve the services that matter most to tenants.
Tenant Satisfaction Measures were introduced by government in 2023 and are designed to help tenants see how well social housing landlords are doing at providing quality homes and services, and where they need to improve. Some of the indicators are collected directly from the council’s housing management systems and others are collected through a survey of tenants.
The latest results show that satisfaction ratings have risen right across the board – including overall tenant satisfaction rate, showing that the improvements the council has made are having a positive impact on tenants.
There has also been a clear improvement to repairs service, with the council completing a higher number of both urgent and non-urgent repairs compared to the pervious years General satisfaction with the repairs service has also risen by seven percent over the past year.
All survey results are now available to view on our Tenant Satisfaction Measures page.
Councillor Jean Innes, Chesterfield Borough Council’s cabinet member for housing, said: “I’m pleased to say that over the past year, we’ve seen some really encouraging progress across our services. These improvements show we’re moving in the right direction, and we’re grateful to every tenant who took the time to share their views through surveys – they play a vital role in helping the council to understand what’s working well, what needs attention, and where it should focus our efforts to improve.
“While the progress is encouraging, we know there is more to do. We remain committed to working closely with tenants to shape services that meet your needs and expectations.”
