Chesterfield in Bloom

In Bloom

Chesterfield in Bloom is a campaign that inspires communities in Chesterfield to make positive changes to their local environment through horticultural, environmental and community action.

It is led by the independent Chesterfield In Bloom committee, which is made up of local volunteers.

In 2025 the committee has organised a children’s painting competition for local schools. It includes two categories a Reception to Year 2 category which has the theme of Perfect Parks and a Year 3 to Year 6 category with the theme of Busy Bees. These will be judged by the committee with the winners of each category receiving a prize.

Schools were also invited to take part in Let’s Grow; a growing competition open to all primary schools. Each school is given a planter, some compost and a selection of summer bedding plants to start. But schools could add more plants or items to personalise their entry and create a blooming marvellous creation.

Judging of the planters will take place at schools during the week beginning 30 June 2025.
