We have sessions specially designed to go at a more moderate pace and with lower impact, to reduce the stress on joints.
Of course, if you're over fifty you can join in any of our fitness classes or activities, and swimming is a particularly good low impact exercise.
Most sessions run at both Queens Park Sports Centre and the Healthy Living Centre at various times, we have something specially for the over 50s on most days of the week.
Our 50+ activity day takes place at Queen's Park Sports Centre every Wednesday and at the Healthy Living Centre on Tuesday.
Exercise classes
50+ aerobics - lower impact and aerobic workout to help you exercise and tone without the risk of injury.
50+ circuit training - moderately paced class in which you do one exercise for a short burst then move on to the next. Suitable for all levels of fitness as you can work at your own level.
50+ stretch and tone - for comfort and treatment of stiffness, stress and anxiety, to improve posture and increase flexibility.
Zumba Gold - a modified class with original Zumba moves at a lower intensity. This class focuses on all elements of fitness cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance.

Booking
There's no need to book, just turn up and join in (bookings are required for fitness classes due to limited spaces).
Queen's Park Sports Centre activities - 9am to 3pm
- aerobics: 11am to midday, studio 1 and 2
- badminton: 8.30am to 10.30am, main hall
- bowls: 10.45am to 12.45pm, main hall
- racketball coaching: 9am and 9.45am
- swimming: available all day
- table tennis: 12 noon to 1pm
- yoga: 1.15pm to 2.15pm, studio one
Healthy Living Centre activities - 9.15am to 1pm
- legs, bums and tums: 9.15am
- table tennis: 10am to 11.30am
- yoga: 10.15am
- Pilates: 12.15pm
- aquacise: 12.15pm

Price includes activity plus a swim session.

Advanced booking
Our active fitness members and Annual Active Chesterfield members can book eight days before playing. Annual Active Chesterfield members will pay at the time of booking.
Change4Life (Change for Life) members and non-members can book up to six days in advance and pay at the time of booking.
