Snow wardens volunteers privacy notice

Chesterfield Borough Council is the data controller for the information you provide when you agree to volunteer as a snow warden.

The privacy notice below explains how we use information about you and how we protect your privacy.

Purpose for processing and lawful basis

Personal information which you have supplied to us will be used for the following purposes:

  • To organise delivery of supplies
  • To organise warden activity
  • To contact you about your continued participation in the scheme
  • To request feedback

Under data protection legislation, the lawful basis for this processing is that it forms part of the volunteering agreement you signed up to.

Who we share your information with

Your information will be shared with the snow warden co-ordinator for your ward.

The council may share your information with other public sector bodies/agencies where it has a statutory requirement to do so. This may include sharing information for crime and taxation purposes, such as fraud prevention.

Retaining your information

Your personal data will be retained in accordance with local government retention guidelines.
