This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Assistant to join our Repairs and Maintenance team. This varied role will involve supporting qualified electricians with day-to-day repairs and maintenance, as well as refurbishment work in council homes across Chesterfield.

The successful candidate will assist with electrical repairs, fault-finding and installation work. You should have experience of working alongside qualified electricians in domestic properties, either in a similar role or within the wider building trade. Knowledge of other trade skills, and an ability to work effectively alongside different trades, would be advantageous.

The successful applicant will:

  • have a positive, can-do approach and welcome the opportunity to help make our Housing Property  Services team even more successful
  • ideally hold Asbestos Awareness or Category B training
  • enjoy working both independently and as part of a team
  • be hardworking, proactive and able to use your initiative
  • have a strong understanding of health and safety requirements
  • demonstrate excellent people skills and treat residents with care and compassion

Previous experience of working in social housing would be beneficial, although it is not essential.
